Darlene Pike

Darlene Pike has over 20 years of experience in communication design and information technology. With a background of direct marketing and graphic design, in the mid-90's she transitioned into a career in new media. She currently provides technical direction and executes web projects for clients including Brandspa, LexisNexis, Lifestyles Direct, Novartis and Tourette Syndrome of New Jersey.

Previously, Darlene was employed at information technology consultancy AlphaNet Solutions (now Ciber). Here she led project teams to deliver web, database and client/server solutions for corporate clients such as Cigna, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and The Seeing Eye.

As Art Director at Ad Hoc Marketing Resources, a New York direct marketing agency, she designed mailing packages for Chase, Citicorp, and other corporate clients. She also worked on public service television spots for the City of New York. She was honored with the Bronze Effie Award for Advertising Effectiveness for her design work on a campaign for Empire Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

Darlene earned a Master of Professional Studies from New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program. She has a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design. She is a Certified Internet Webmaster Master E-Commerce Designer and is an active member of the Usability Professionals' Association and the Association for
Computing Machinery (ACM) SIGCHI.
